Many-time Headley Cup winners STETHS dethrone Manchester High
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) were crowned 2025 ISSA/GK General Insurance Headley Cup winners after getting the better of Manchester High in the rain-affected three-day final at STETHS Sports Complex.
Though the match ended in a draw, many-time rural Headley Cup cricket winners STETHS took the title by virtue of earning first-innings honours over 2024 champions Manchester High.
Manchester High had needed to win outright to retain the title, but no play was possible on Friday’s last day due to rain and wet areas at the bowlers’ run-up at both ends of the pitch.
When the match was called off Friday afternoon, Manchester High, batting a second time, were on their overnight score of 93-4, a lead of 23 runs with six wickets standing.
Scores: Manchester 117 & 93-4; STETHS 233.
Manchester High had won the ISSA rural T20 title on Monday when they defeated STETHS in that final.
